Resort Profile- Mt. Hood

Mt. Hood might be more known as a mountaineering destination, but the slopes and conditions at Mount Hood Meadows are among the best in the Pacific Northwest.  Aside from the more than 2,000 skiable acres, there are several terrain parks with rollers, jumps, rails, and a superpipe with 18 foot walls.  Each of these parks has its own personality, so it will be easy to match your riding style to the terrain.

With more than 430” of snow per season, on average, there are bound to be good conditions on most, if not all of the 85 runs.  The longest run stretches nearly 3 miles, making it seem like you can ski Mount Hood Meadows forever.

Mount Hood Meadows is a resort destination, but it is very convenient for day trips as well.  Located only 60 miles away from the city of Portland, it takes a mere hour-and-a-half to get from the major metropolis to the Meadows.  What the resort lacks in amenities, it makes up for with its proximity to Portland.  That said, there are plenty of options for staying near the mountain.  These range from friendly bed-and-breakfasts to top-notch inns with spa services.  Many of these accommodations offer great views of the Northwest’s most well-known mountain.
