Resort Profile- Mammoth

.!.

The ski and snowboard resort at Mammoth, California is, well, mammoth.  It has over 3,500 acres of terrain and boasts snowfall totals that exceed 400” per year on average.  Riders and skiers are able to choose between numerous, long backcountry rides and a host of smoothly groomed slopes.  There are over 150 trails on Mammoth.  And, at nearly 12,000 feet elevation, ski conditions are idea six months out of the year.

Mammoth also has seven terrain parks and three half-pipes, making it the number one destination in California for snowboarders of all skill levels.  Expert riders and boarding newbies will undoubtedly be able to find something to love somewhere in the collection of rails, jumps, boxes, and pipes.

There are 4 on-site lodges, each catering to a different demographic.  The Village Lodge turns luxury up a notch, while Mammoth Mountain Inn, located within sights of the main gondola, puts a premium on access to the slopes and after-ski fun.  The world’s first (and only) mountain-top tiki bar, Lakanuki, serves up some casual, light-hearted fun when the sun goes down, while a respectable collection of wine bars and cocktail lounges offer more sophisticated alternatives.

This snow sports Mecca is heavy on accessibility and options and light on hassle.
