Resort Profile- Deer Valley
Deer Valley Resort, near Park City, Utah, is consistently ranked by skiers and snowboarders as the number one winter sports area in the country. Deer Valley hosted some of the skiing events during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Though the Games are long gone, the world-class quality remains. There are multiple mountains near the resort. Back country aficionados will enjoy the ungroomed trails and famous Utah powder of Bald Mountain while others will find their comfort zone on the pristinely manicured slopes lower on the same mountain. Some of the runs on nearby Bald Eagle Mountain were used for the Olympic slalom and mogul competitions. All together, there are more than 2,000 ski-able acres in the park. The fact that there are multiple mountains makes for plenty of options.
There is action on the slopes, of course, but there is just as much going on after the skiing and riding are done. The Park City area features everything from fine dining at top rated restaurants like Mariposa to laid back spots to nosh on pizza, sandwiches, and even vegetarian-friendly fare.
Deer Valley and neighboring Park City saw an influx of visitors during the 2002 Games. The hotels, condos, and lodges that served as accommodations for international visitors are still open, meaning that there are numerous options for every budget range. No matter what your budget range, you’ll be able to find a place to crash at Deer Valley.
