Resort Profile- Big Sky

If you added up the runs at the nearly 4000 skiable acres at Montana’s Big Sky Resort, you could ski or snowboard for nearly 85 miles.  Yes, everything is big at Big Sky.  400” of snow drop on the three mountains in the resort.  Runs are divided evenly between novice, intermediate and expert.

Big Sky also boasts the only superpipe in the area.  The big air jumps at Ambush Terrain Park are a hit with expert skiers and snowboarders, but also a lot of fun for spectators who want to keep their feet on the ground but still get a taste of the excitement.

Big Sky is more than a ski resort.  It is only 16 miles from the famed Yellowstone National Park, meaning that it sits in the middle of one of the Mountain States’ busiest tourist areas.  Horseback riding, fly fishing, biking, and hiking make Big Sky almost as popular in summer as it is in winter.  This also means that there are plenty of options as far as hotels and rental condos in the area.  Big Sky has everything from basic slope-side rentals to luxurious inns with full service spas and world-class restaurants.  There are events for the family most weekends, as well as live music and a lively after-ski scene.
